Three Things Thursday

1.   My poor C.C… I had to take her to the groomer Monday.  I know, I know… who takes a cat to the groomer, right?  Well, trust me, you would have too.  I’m still not real sure what she did or how she did it, but over the weekend, she got some of her litter clumped in the fur around her … ummmm… lady parts.  I cleaned her as best I could, but I just couldn’t get it all.  She wasn’t very cooperative for me, and bless her heart she’s old and can’t really clean herself anymore, so she was no help.  The groomer bathed her and still had to shave some out.  She was none too happy about it, but it HAD to be done!

She haaaaaaaates riding!
You will pay for this, servant.

2.   I found this at the grocery Tuesday!  I had seen online that they were releasing it and was excited to try it.  I was shocked to find it here so soon.  This little po-dunk town is waaaaaaay behind the times when it comes to plant-based options.

3.   I had a dinner-and-a-movie date with my sister Monday night!  We checked out a new (well, it opened in the spring, but I hadn’t been there yet) Japanese joint here in town called Miso.  She had some kind of raw fish sushi shit, and I had a veggie/tofu entree.  We both really liked our food.  I’d definitely go back!  Then we drove a couple of towns over to a theater where Annabelle was playing.  (They’ve already taken it down here–WTF?!)  That is one creepy-ass doll.

Have you ever given a cat a bath?  C.C. is 15 years old and this is her first one.

What’s your favorite non-dairy milk?

Do you like scary movies?  I love ’em!  We’re going back to see Ouija when it opens.

Tuesday Tidbits

  • I’ve always been a big Jennifer Aniston fan.  Last week I read that she adopted a pit bull mix from rescue, and now I love her even more.
  • I’m no foodie, and I have no intention of ever being a food blogger, but this was too good not to share.   I came across the latest Vegetarian Times at work a couple of weeks ago, and they had a delicious looking paella primavara on the front cover.  I came home and asked the Almighty Google for the recipe, and he found this for me:  IT. WAS. DELICIOUS.
  • And you know what else is good?  THIS!
  • I’m gonna end out February about 6 miles shy of what would be on par for a 1,000-mile year.  Right on track!
  • I got my CSA signup form today!  Now I’m trying to find someone to go in and split a full share with me.  They don’t have a half share option, and even though I’m a vegetarian and eat the crap out of some produce, I don’t know if I can tackle a full share on my own.  Their signup sheet says it should provide produce for a family of four.  I may have to buy a deep freeze!
  • Everyone is sick around here!  The neighboring county schools are even closed because of the flu.  Praying I don’t catch it!  I’ve got too much running to do!  Half marathon #7 in 5 days!

Cold Turkey

I hit rock bottom today.

“Hi, my name is Pam, and I’m a junkfoodaholic.”

There. I said it. Now let the healing begin.

I don’t know WHAT has gotten into me lately, but I have been eating like shit. I still eat the good stuff, but I’ve just had waaaaaaaay too much of the bad stuff in the mix. A Pop Tart here, an Oreo a handful of Oreos there, a handful half a bag of Doritos here, and then today… good God. A coworker brought a sweet potato cake to work this morning, and I ate like three pieces of that cake. Not all in one sitting, mind you–it was spread out over the course of the workday, not that that makes it any less disgusting. It was just soooooooooo goooooooooooooood. *wiping drool from keyboard*

But that’s it! This has gotten out of hand! My cravings have gotten out of control. No more. Starting right now. It’s my own personal private little lent.

But the alcohol stays. Hey, a girl’s gotta have SOMETHING to hang on to.
