A Change of Plans

We had such big plans for 2011.  We were gonna finish concreting the driveway.  (It’s a fairly big drive.  We did half of it already.)  We were going to put in a new French door.  We were going to pay extra towards a loan to have it paid off by the end of the year (three years early).  We were going to take some trips.

Then we had our taxes done yesterday.

And since I hear jail isn’t all that fun, rather of doing all those fun things we will be paying the IRS a disgusting amount of money instead.

We’ll be living like the poor folk for a while because… well, because we’ll BE the poor folk for a while.

  1. It might be cheaper to line your driveway with dead bodies and spread some dirt on the top. Just sayin'…

I am not going to tell you what our tax return was becuase, well, I might end up in your dirveway!

  2. Those damn taxes!! I am getting a whopping $42 back! Look at that.

It's okay. I'm poor too. It's really good that running is our hobby, since it's free and all. 🙂

  3. Sorry to hear about your taxes – thought there was supposed to be some “change” after the elections. Guess not for us earning <$$$! Well at the very least, you can enjoy coffee in that spectacular mug I got ya (shameless plug)! Things will get better!

  4. LOL — yup, it's Alyssa. 🙂 While I have never used my name on my blog, I've been meeting more and more bloggers in person and people are finding me through Brooks & Nuun, and it's getting harder to stay anonymous. So, yup, you're onto me now, too! 😀

My leg is much better, thanks for asking! I notice that the first few running steps I take are the most painful, but after a few blocks, the pain goes away. I think some people call this a “warm up”, lol! My heel pain is definitely more noticeable than my leg pain these days; I've still been rolling them both, but the foam roller for my leg seems to be working more efficiently than the tennis ball for my plantar fasciitis. 😦

Ugh, I'm sorry to hear about your taxes. It's such a bummer that it's ruining your existing plans. 😦 I'm used to playing the poor game and I wonder if I'll ever get out of that phase. It bet it super duper sucks when you have other plans that need to change. 😦 Bummer.

  5. Well, I don't know… we moved from MA to VA, so… it was like winning the lottery as far as Taxes is concerned, you know?

And I would LOVE it if you could come join the GBA** posse for a run. There are days when we have too much silliness for the size of our group, and on the other side of that, we know when it's GO TIME/time to bring it. Ya know?
